Community Health Foundation recognizes the vital importance of alleviating hunger in our community and of providing nutritious food to families and individuals for better health and better lives. The Board of Trustees voted recently to provide an emergency grant of $75,000 to SHFB for operating support to sustain warehouse operations, distribution and partner agency support and to help Second Harvest purchase shelf stable items. The food insecurity rates in Clark and Champaign Counties continue to increase and various funding cuts have impacted more than 378,000 meals. During this season of giving and throughout the year, supporting our local food bank is of utmost importance!
