Ruling our eXperiences (ROX) provides research-backed resources and programs to help girls use their voice, rule their experiences and embrace their confidence. The school based ROX program for girls has been validated with over 40,000 girls and helps them cope with drops in confidence, navigate difficult friendships and deal with unhealthy relationships, prevent sexual violence, plan for their futures, and develop leadership skills.
Community Health Foundation helps support the ROX program offered in local middle schools known as Being a Girl in Clark County. The program served 73 girls with the 20 week in-school program. ROX gives girls the tools they need to set boundaries, deal with coercion, communicate assertively, stand up for themselves and recognize that their value comes from who they are, not how they look. The evidence-based program includes modules on self-defense, healthy relationships, coping with stress and pressure, a healthy body image, and career development among other topics.
Of the participants, 84% said that ROX is one of the things they like best about school!
