Project Jericho, a program of Clark State College, believes art has the power to change lives and communities. Project Jericho provides visual and performing arts programming to youth and families in Clark County. Research demonstrates the positive impact of arts programming to affirm positive youth development, to strengthen families and to promote resiliency.

CHF helps fund the Open Studio program where youth aged 12-18 create art in various forms on Monday afternoons throughout the school year. Open Studio focuses on goal setting and accountability through self -motivated visual and performing arts projects. Teaching artists, Project Jericho staff and volunteers are onsite to encourage and support the students. The youth host art showcases and performances throughout the school year for an audience of their friends, families, and special guests. Last year, 85 students participated in the program which included check-ins with an onsite mental health therapist; the students reported increases in hopeful thinking, communication skills, self-esteem and mindfulness skills.
