September 29, 2020, Springfield, OH – Community Health Foundation has held an annual Health Expo for the past eight years. This free, interactive health event has traditionally attracted 500 visitors and included health screenings, demonstrations, and informational booths.

Although the current Coronavirus pandemic has prevented the event from being held this fall, CHF continues to pursue its mission to promote health and wellness and has taken a new approach.

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, Break for Health, a free virtual event, will include a discussion of breast health, and will focus on prevention, screening, treatment, support and hope. The event is free to anyone and will be held on Zoom. Nettie Carter Smith will moderate the discussion, which will include Jennifer Daniels, MD, FACS, Surgeon and Jyothi Challa, MD, Oncology.  Several breast cancer survivors and members of local breast cancer recovery support organizations will also be part of the discussion.

The event will be held Thursday, October 15th, from noon to 1:00 pm. Anyone interested in attending may register at www.breakforhealth.eventbrite.com. All registrants will be entered into a drawing for door prizes.  For further information, call Joan Elder at 937.523.7007 or email jelder@mercy.com.
