Community Health Foundation (CHF Springfield) has provided outreach funding of $775,000 this fiscal year for emergency needs, health equity programs and projects, the women’s and children’s programs of the Clark County Combined Health District, oral health and mini grants for smaller community projects.
At its spring meeting, the trustees of CHF awarded responsive grants of $350,000 to nonprofit organizations working in the areas of health and wellness; $35,000 was specifically for H.E.A.L., healthy eating, active living, projects. Fifty organizations received funding including $20,000 to Rocking Horse Community Health Center for its maternal/infant health program; $15,000 in operating support to Second Harvest Food Bank; $13,500 to both Jefferson Street Oasis Community Garden and Springfield Promise Neighborhood’s visioning garden; $10,000 to On-the-Rise; $4,000 to the Maple Tree Cancer Alliance and $4,000 to the Deaf Community Resource Center among many others. The mission of Community Health Foundation is to preserve reproductive services, to promote health and wellness and to advocate for quality healthcare through grant making and education.
