Cancer: Early Detection, Prevention, Education: Screening and diagnostic mammography, full field digital mammography, breast MRI, computer aided detection, mammotome breast biopsy system, digital stereotactic services, stereotactic breast biopsies, breast ultrasound and needle localization.
Community Health Foundation works closely with Mercy Health to coordinate mammography screenings for uninsured and under-insured women. Dawn Naill, coordinator at the Springfield Regional Cancer Center is available to answer questions at (937) 523-9330. A physician’s order is no longer necessary for a woman to receive a mammogram, and thanks to the new mobile mammography van recently acquired by Community Mercy Health Partners, area women are now able to easily access early detection of breast cancer. Find a mobile screening event near you at www.mercy.com/SpringfieldMobileMammo. Women seeking mammograms are asked to register for screenings by calling (937) 328-8100.
Osteoporosis: Bone mineral density testing (dexa-scan of spine and hip), with physician order.
Targeted Assistance: Financial assistance to help pay cost of mammography services available through two
different grants. Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP) for women age 50 and older
(please call 1-866-838-8973 for qualifications); and the Breast Cancer Endowment Fund for
women under age 50. (Please call 390-5513 for qualifications.)
