Not unlike the jockeys and horses who will run for the roses in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, the persons participating in two therapeutic riding programs which CHF helps fund are enjoying the thrill and challenge of riding a horse—just at a bit slower pace!

Autumn Trails Stable and The Riding Centre bring together community members and horses for a special bond that promotes life skills and healing.  Today, we highlight both of them in our Grantee Spotlight:

Autumn Trails Stable, located at 2000 Folk Ream Road in Springfield, Ohio, is a transformative center serving our community in an encouraging environment to nurture the full potential of individuals through the therapeutic power of horses. Autumn Trails brings together medical and recreational models with the healing power of the human-equine bond to make the impossible become possible for those they serve. The Riding Centre, located at 1117 E Hyde Rd. in Yellow Springs, Ohio, is a therapeutic equestrian facility that provides a foundation in safe riding and the care and management of horses through affordable lessons to children and adults of diverse capabilities. People of all ages, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds benefit from day camps, group and private lessons, and our therapeutic riding program. There is a saying about the healing power of horses: God made doctors to help heal the body. But, he made horses to help heal the soul.” –anonymous.

These two wonderful equestrian centers and today’s grantee spotlights represent this sentiment well.
