The Visioning Garden at Springfield Promise Neighborhood has more than 20 families tending a garden plot and more than 150 individuals involved with the visioning garden. Making the garden site beautiful and accessible has increased its visibility in the neighborhood and beyond. Most evenings, children who live nearby kick a soccer ball around or play in the sandbox at the garden. The children are interested in the garden plots and often jump in to help-offering to plant, weed, water and harvest.
Community Health Foundation provided a responsive grant of $7,500 to help support the garden and the healthy produce and families the garden grows.
