Safe Harbor House, a residential wrap around recovery program, provides a safe place to heal for women recovering from addiction.  Lisa arrived at Safe Harbor House from a short-term detox program; she had tried many avenues for help with her addiction prior to arriving at Safe Harbor House but none had worked.

Lisa’s addiction stemmed from her attempts to cope with her childhood trauma which was extensive.  She’d experienced emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, the tragic death of a parent and more.

The program at Safe Harbor House gave Lisa the tools, support, and time she needed to overcome her addiction. Today, Lisa is thriving.  She is in active recovery, is working as a case manager and has reunited with her children.

Community Health Foundation was happy to support the work of Safe Harbor House with responsive grant funding of $7,500 in 2023.
