ReCycle is a program for 6th-8th grade students which teaches bike safety and proper bike mechanics with the help of adult and student mentors. The bicycles are donated by the Clark County Sheriff Department and the City of Springfield Police Department. Students get to select the bike they wish to work on and customize it with the colors they choose for the tires and handle grips. Once the student completes the program, they have a functioning and safe bike to call their own; they also have the skill set needed to fix and maintain their bike. It’s a great program which Community Health Foundation is happy to help fund.
