The Open Hands Free Pantry provides free food, fresh produce, personal hygiene items, and $5.00 vouchers valid at the two Springfield Goodwill stores. The pantry is open on Tuesdays from 10 am until noon and on Thursdays from 2 pm until 4 pm; it is located at the Springfield First Seventh Day Adventist Church at 151 S. Bird Road. Open Hands Free Pantry’s motto is Freely Given, Freely Received. The pantry is run by volunteers from area United Methodist churches and has served the community since 2008.
Community Health Foundation is pleased to support the pantry’s work with a responsive grant of $2,500.
