Lifecare Alliance is the provider of Meals-on-Wheels in Champaign County. Meals-on-Wheels is a nationwide program to address hunger and isolation among older adults. It is often the only check-in an older person receives in a day. LifeCare Alliance’s Meals on Wheels program provides nutritious meals, a friendly face and a safety check in for some of our most vulnerable community members. Community Health Foundation’s $10,000 grant helped LifeCare Alliance provide meals for 293 seniors in 2022-2023 with 94% of the seniors indicating they are only able to remain in their own home due to receiving home delivered meals.
