Family and Youth Initiatives is an organization dedicated to empowering families and providing hope.  Community Health Foundation funding helps support the New Roots Mentoring program.  This program’s goal is to influence youth through supportive, one-on-one, group and in school mentoring by caring adults to encourage and support youth through the challenges of adolescence.  In this past school year, New Roots Mentoring served over 200 elementary and middle school students in the Tecumseh and Greenon School districts.  The students are surveyed regularly and exhibit an increase in developing positive relationships and in resilience and coping skills.
