CHF provided a $7,500 grant to help support the Covenant Freedom School, provided by Covenant United Methodist Church, and held at Fulton Elementary School from June 10 to July 19. The program delivers a culturally integrated reading curriculum which is designed to inspire a love of reading and strengthen children’s confidence and sense of community. The program also provides STEAM, music, dance, art, sports and fitness activities and educational field trips.
Covenant’s program is a part of the national Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools whose goal is to Leave No Child Behind.
