Rosemond was an English teacher and a lawyer in Haiti who fled his home country due to political strife.  Rosemond says the biggest shock of his life was to discover how little of the English language he actually knew!  Swallowing his pride, he enrolled in the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program of Warder Literacy Center.  Rosemond is amazed by how spoken English differs from written English and he is pleased with his progress in correcting his English patterns.  He’s committed to learning and said “whenever the doors are open for class, I will be here.”  Rosemond has a work permit and is saving to sponsor his wife and children who are still in Haiti.

Community Health Foundation provided a responsive grant of $6,000 to support the basic literacy and English for speakers of other languages program.
