The Clark County Combined Health District (CCCHD) received funding from Community Health
Foundation to support an expansion of their sexual health and wellness clinic in partnership with the
Clark County Jail. The program served more than 80 persons educating them about birth control
options and health screenings with a goal of helping the clients to be healthier. Another goal was to
establish a relationship with the clients to build trust with health department staff to increase continuity
of care upon release. Clients received screening, treatment and education for any issues noted at the
jail, along with follow up treatment and information at CCCHD clinics after their release from jail.
