Volunteering among seniors has been linked to improved quality of life, stronger social networks, increased levels of physical activity and lower mortality rates.

The AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program operates with a dual purpose: to engage Americans 55 years and older in volunteer service to meet critical community needs, and to provide a high-quality experience for the volunteers.

In our local program, 427 United Senior Services members volunteer for RSVP. The seniors work at food pantries, help with income tax filings and teach their favorite hobbies among other volunteer activities. CHF is pleased to support RSVP with a $5,000 grant.
