Michael Cooper is a lifelong resident of Springfield and Clark County.  He graduated from Southeastern High School, Wilmington College and Tiffin University.  He spent more than 15 years as a sports and news reporter at the Springfield News-Sun before becoming the Clark County government’s Public Information Officer in 2018.   In addition to his service to the CHF Board and its grant, marketing and DEI committees, Cooper is a board member of Keep Clark County Beautiful and the local Emergency Planning Committee.  He also works as a freelance reporter and photographer.

Michael and his wife, Carey, live in Springfield Township with their three children, Christian, Harper and Benny.  They spend countless hours at the baseball and softball diamonds as the children all play and Michael is an assistant coach for two baseball teams.

Cooper shared he enjoys serving on the Community Health Foundation board because of the huge impact the organization makes on the lives of so many different people in Clark and Champaign counties.
